Maravilla enjoys a spectacular 900-yard pristine beach. To locals the beach has been known as "Playa las Palmas" "Playa San Pedro" and "Palm Tree Beach". All beaches in Mexico are public, meaning in most locations, passersby and curio hawkers can walk the beach as long as they remain a distance from property lines. While the beach at Maravilla is also public, it's unique location, being flanked by cliffs, creates an enclave and makes access incredibly difficult to anyone who is not a resort guest. This will allow your guest to relax in peace and safety.

 

The beach is soft white sand with a gentle sloping ocean entrance. Because of the gentle slope and sheltered cove, it is a perfect environment for swimming and body surfing with very little undertow. While much of Baja's coast shares Maravillla's glorious ocean views, it is incredibly rare that the Pacific side is swimmable. This point will not be lost on resort guests as they can enjoy all the Pacific has to offer. In addition, one of the premier surfing beaches, Las Cerritos, is located just 10 minutes to the south of Maravilla.

The 1,100 acre property is also the beneficiary of a 150 square mile water shed, from the 7,000 foot De Laguna Mountains. The mountain rainfall produces an underground aquifer culminating at the beach at Maravilla. This water is permitted for property use. The abundant fresh water source is incredibly unique for Mexico. The result of this underground river is also a 15-acre fresh-water lagoon. The lagoon area itself is filled with old growth palm trees and is called home by hundreds of local species of birds. This incredible oasis is a way for guests to hike and enjoy the pristine ecosystem of Mexico.
